To the Moon

by Ruth Acuff

/
1.
All I see is blue, beautiful and true. All I know is green, so serene. You’re my meadowlark, with me since my light sparked. You’re my willow tree, blowing. I see you, all in bloom, on that day when you knew… You’re my northern light, making everything all right. Musing over you. I see you, all in bloom, on that day when you knew… on that day when you knew, I loved you.

Moon Girls 05:20
Moon Girls Goodbye, goodbye. I’ll hold you in the next life. Lean back, relax. All your fear is gone. My moon girl she takes your heart, Softens up the hardest part. Takes your pain and lets it go, Makes your sadness melt like snow. And part of me will always be, you. No one else is quite like you, No one else on earth. No amount of gold and jewels Could replace your worth. And part of me will always be, you. Goodbye, goodbye. I’ll hold you in the next life.

To the Moon 05:22
There’s a rock inside my throat, Grew up from my heart below, When you left me all alone here. With my hand upon my heart, For the justice that was lost, Darkness fills me. Formed into a tiny stone, Now forever grows and grows. We lost you too soon, Lost you, to the moon. We lost you too soon. Lost you, to the moon.

about

“...she proves unusually adept at mingling the real and the surreal. Emotionally and spiritually, “To the Moon” is a mix of memory and mystery, the natural and supernatural, who remains and what they have left to learn.”
Aarik Danielson - The Columbia Daily Tribune

A note about "To the Moon":
This EP is in honor and memory of my best friend, who left this world at a young age, but pressed a lasting imprint on my life. It is released with hope, that those who have lost someone important to them may find comfort in knowing they are not alone, and that our dearly departed are remembered and loved.
